Conquer Cougar Trails.

The Cougar Trail Series brings you onto trails designed for mountain bikes but perfect for runners and walkers seeking flow, speed, and variety.

With the help of our local expert, we’ve hand-picked routes that twist through juvenile and mature pine forest, dip into lush native bush, and offer moments of pure trail running bliss.

From gentle flats to bermed corners and grin-inducing downhills, every step will have you grinning just as much as the riders these trails were built for.

Explore the Cougar Trail Run Distances:

21km Cougar Trail Run/Walk

A course built for speed and flow, the 21km at Cougar takes you through bermed corners, rolling single track, and forest scenery that changes with every turn. The opening kilometre is wide and flat to help you settle into your stride before tackling the first climb to Jungle Junction.

From there, the trails wind through a mix of pine forest, native bush, and gravel connectors, leading you to a stunning section of “Flintstone” themed trails. Keep some energy for the final climb back to Jungle Junction before an epic downhill run to the finish.

14km Cougar Trail Run/Walk

The 14km course delivers all the variety Cougar is known for in a slightly shorter package. Start with an easy kilometre to find your pace, then climb to Jungle Junction before following smooth, flowing single track through pine and native bush.

You’ll enjoy plenty of runnable sections linked by short gravel stretches, and the last climb back to Jungle Junction rewards you with a fast, fun descent straight to the finish line.

7km Cougar Trail Run/Walk

This is the perfect taste of Cougar’s signature trails. A flat, easy first kilometre leads you to the main climb of the day, taking you up to Jungle Junction. From there, it’s a scenic run through pine and native bush on flowing single track that feels fast and fun from start to finish.
